Dominic goes vegan!

Yes, that's right. vegan. Dominic is going vegan. Why? Dominic was inspired by a book called Skinny Bitch. It talks about about why we are so dependent on milk and meat products and the conditions the animals are in. Also, I am doing it for the health benefits. Vegans live 15 years long, almost never get sick and just live better lives. It's suppose to be really good for setting a good mood. Also, the whole animal thing is just icing on the cake. I will really be trying this week. I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow! I'm really excited. I don't plan on counting calories because I think I get obsessive by doing it. I will, however, be posting my menu. I hope everything works out, I really want to make this lifestyle change; not just for me, but for the animals, too!

Good Luck...are you going veggie or vegan...so you aren't eating any eggs or cheese? Yikes, you are way stronger than me.....I adore eggs and cheese. I don't adore meat though....I only eat chicken and turkey and occasionaly fish and about once every two months beef.....so meat wouldn't be hard for me to give up but cheese and eggs....no way! I will be excited to see how you do....you should post a grocery haul on You Tube! Have a great Sunday! :-)

Curious to see what you get at the store....:-)

Hi Dominic,
Sure hope you read more about Soy products and males before you dive in using them.
I gave up milk and cheese over a year ago.
I do have goat cheese about once a month and non-fat cottage cheese as a protein source.
Going Vegan is challenging, good luck with it.
You can always use the cronOmeter to check how much protein your getting in a day.

I totally know where you're coming from, Marjie. I've read a lot about the estrogen in soy and am pretty sure I won't be eating much (if any). To me, most soy comes in the form of the highly processed vegan/vegetarian foods that I won't touch with a ten foot pole. The only downside is that almond or rice milk has little if any protein. I'm going to be adding natural whey to it when I do get it. Wish me luck!
